When I heard that a gas company had opened up a website to attract new customers, I initially brushed it off. I was fine with the service I was getting from my gas company and didn’t really see a need to switch. As time passed, people talked to me about they switched to the company and got better rates than their old plans. I thought they were exaggerating and asked them how much they saved, and when I heard their results, I was stunned. I went to the site to see what kind of deal I could get by switching.
The prices were quite unbelievable. The price that they were offering was the equivalent of half of what a person would be paying with any other company. I had a feeling that there had to be some kind of catch or fine print to the deals they were offering. Sometimes companies will only offer deals for a limited period, and when that period is over, they jack up the price and have a termination fee so that people can’t just leave. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find any kind of catch. The deal was legitimate, so I gave it a chance.
It’s been months now since I switched, and there has been no price increase or any kind of fees imposed. If I had paid attention to the site earlier, I could have gotten some savings for a couple of months. I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to dealing with companies, but this is one case where hesitation wasn’t really necessary. At the rate that people are switching to the new company, I wonder what the other gas company will do to get their customers back, or keep the ones that haven’t made the switch yet.
